Over 120 Chinese living in Japan met in Tokyo Sunday to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the victory of China's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the victory of international efforts against fascists during the World War II.
"We should study the speech of Chinese President Hu Jintao delivered Saturday in Beijing marking the event," Chinese ambassador to Japan Wang Yi said at the meeting jointly sponsored by the federation of overseas Chinese in Japan and the association of new overseas Chinese in Japan.
Wang highly praised the efforts and contribution of overseas Chinese patriots in Japan for the final victory of the war, calling for overseas Chinese people across Japan to continue efforts in promoting China-Japan relations and motherland's future development.
The meeting issued a letter saying that any force of non- justice non-peace is doomed to ruin. The letter called on people in China and Japan to join hands in treatment of history issues and fight against war.
The letter also slashed Japanese right-wingers' actions and remarks that attempt to whitewash the country's aggression war, urged Japan to correctly view history and deeply remorse over its militarism past and atrocities conducted by its aggression troops on Chinese people.
It called on Chinese people living and studying in Japan to play a role of bridge for exchanges between China and Japan, pushing forward China-Japan exchanges to a new page.
