French president doing well: military hospital
font size

French President Jacques Chirac is in good shape two days after being hospitalized for blood vessel problems, the Val de Grace military hospital said Sunday in a statement.

"His general condition and his medical tests are very satisfactory," said the statement.

Chirac, 72, cancelled his appointments for the week after doctors in the hospital advised him to stay there for "several days."

He was admitted to the hospital late on Friday following what his aides described as a "vascular accident" affecting his vision.
