Google announced on September 5 that it unveiled local search engine tailored to Chinese users, which will be rivaling the existing services by Baidu, Sina and Sogou.
Logging on http://bendi.google.com, Chinese users can easily find information of their localities, including the lists of enterprises near by, maps and related web pages. Over 100 Chinese cities have been included with map search services for 70 of them.
Mapabc, which provides specialized map searching for Google, also serves Sina's iAsk. Moreover, Google's partners this time also include yellow page providers.
Although the searching results depend on their correlation with users' requests, and the service is free, insiders hold that it shows Google's consistent style, that is not for money, but will receive long-term benefit.
