Greece tables bill adopting revised European Patent Convention
font size

The Greek development ministry tabled a bill in the parliament on Tuesday that will ratify the adoption of the revised European Patent Convention (EPC) by Greece.

Greece had signed the act for the revision of the European Patents Convention on November 29, 2000 but this had not been ratified by its parliament.

The bill tabled by Development Minister Dimitris Sioufas was drawn up in collaboration with the Industrial Property Organization.

The revised version of the 1973 convention for the grant of European patent certificates, designed to keep pace with the latest legal developments concerning patents internationally, has been signed by all countries that are members of the European Patent Office, but so far only ratified by 13.
