Portuguese-speaking nations to boost economic ties with China

Trade officials from seven Portuguese-speaking nations vowed to enhance economic cooperation with China at an investment promotion fair held in Macao on Tuesday.

Representatives from the governments of Angora, Brazil, Portugal, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde Islands, Mozambique and East Timor all hailed Macao for its steady economic growth and its rising role as a platform for trade cooperation between the Chinese mainland and Portuguese-speaking nations.

At the fair, they promoted their countries' investment environment and expressed the wish to attract more investments from China.

Edmund Ho Hau Wah, chief executive of Macao Special Administrative Region, attended the event.
