Angola confident of qualifying World Cup

The chairman of the Angolan Football Federation (FAF), Justino Fernandes has said that even though there is lobbying and strange influence moves, the national team will do everything to guarantee the qualification for the World Cup that will take place in Germany next year.

The Angolan sports official made this statement during a lunch with the Angolan soccer squad, a day after defeating Gabon by 3-1, on Sunday at Cidadela Stadium, in the country capital city, according to local media on Tuesday.

"We have already qualified for CAN in Egypt, and we are a step away from the World Cup. This is an objective that we will still pursue so that our youth manage to curb the Rwandans in their country and overcome every obstacle," he said.

Angola will face on 9 of October, in Kigali, the Rwandan national team, for the tenth and last round of group IV of this competition.

The Angolan national team leads group IV with 18 points, the same as Nigeria.
