Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan met in Xiamen Wednesday with some foreign delegates attending the ninth China International Fair for Investment and Trade (CIFIT).
Meeting with African delegates, Zeng said economic exchanges between China and African countries have become more and more frequent in the 21st century.
The Chinese government adheres to the policy of equality, mutual-benefit, pragmatism and mutual prosperity.
China is willing to enlarge the imports from African countries and most undeveloped countries have been exempt from export taxes,he said.
China has always encouraged domestic companies to invest in Africa and provide possible assistance to it, he said.
He suggested that the two sides increase mutual trust and understanding, strengthen personnel exchanges and cooperation and make full use of the China-Africa Cooperation Forum.
Meeting with delegates from seven Portuguese countries, Zeng said China and these countries have great potential of cooperation.
He said he hopes the two sides can enlarge the fields of cooperation and personnel exchanges, and improve cooperation in natural resources, agriculture and infrastructure.
The ninth China International Fair for Investment and Trade will open Thursday.
