Angolan soccer coach criticizes Nigeria for luring Gabonese team
font size

Angola national soccer team coach, Oliveira Goncalves has criticized Nigeria for luring Gabon in order for them to beat Angola in the 2006 World Cup qualifier.

According to Angolan official news agency Angop on Wednesday, Goncalves referred that Nigeria paid the trip to Angola for 12 Gabonese players, as well as promised a prize in case of a win.

However, the Gabonese team lost to Angola 0-3, at Cidadela Stadium, in Luanda on Sunday.

Oliveira Goncalves said that "despite the (Nigerian) lobbying" the Angolan team is prepared to go until the end and that "the truth is on the field".

As regards Nigeria's 5-2 win over Algeria for the same group, he considered the inexistence of fair play, because the match was seemingly concerted.
