font size

Chinese and Indian officials vowed on Thursday to enhance law-enforcement cooperation, especially in anti-terrorism, drug control and combat of cross-border crimes and illegal border-crossing.

Zhou Yongkang, Chinese state councilor and minister of public security, told visiting Indian Home Minister Shivraj Vishwanathrao Patil that such cooperation is beneficial to both countries and the world as well.

Patil said India attaches importance to the friendly and cooperative cooperation with China, noting his ministry will develop such cooperation with Chinese Ministry of Public Security.

After talks, Zhou and Patil signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the Indian Home Ministry and Chinese Ministry of Public Security.

Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao also meet with Patil after the two officials' talks.
