China values its relations with Hungary and hopes to upgrade the bilateral friendly cooperative partnership to a new level, Chinese vice-president Zeng Qinghong said in Beijing Thursday.
In a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister Gyurcsany Ferenc, Zeng said the two countries upgraded their relations to the level of bilateral friendly cooperative partnership last year.
Zeng said China appreciates Hungarian government's adherence to the one-China policy and its support to China's efforts in national reunification.
He expressed the hope that Hungary would continue render its support and understanding to China on the issues concerning China's core interests.
Gyurcsany said the consensus that the two countries have kept on many key issues boosted the smooth development of Hungary-China ties.
With the growth of bilateral economic, trade and tourist cooperation, China has become Hungary's largest trade partner in Asia and the second largest trade partner in the world following the European Union, he said.
Hungary hopes, he said, to further cooperation with China in various fields to promote bilateral relations.
