Chinese Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan on Friday stressed the importance of accelerating the transformation of growth mode, enhancing overall development and quality, improving investment environment, and promoting economic and technological cooperation across the Taiwan Straits.

He said Fujian Province has achieved remarkable progress in social and economic tasks. The province should reconstruct its industry by developing its IT, mechanical, petrochemical, and textile sectors, as well as fostering the software, biochemical, environmental and hi-tech fields.

Zeng said Fujian should further develop its regional advantage and promote foreign trade. The province should also encourage enterprises to invest overseas and enlarge economic relations with Taiwan.
