New measures help Hangzhou to become animation design capital

Following playing host to the first China International Animation Festival in this June, Hangzhou, capital of east China's Zhejiang province has released 15 new measures that help build "animation capital". The measures include the planning for developing animation industry in Hangzhou in the 11th five-year plan period, opinions on encouraging the development of animation industry in Hangzhou, etc.

According to experts, the animation market in China is a big one worth 20 bln yuan. Spending on animation by youth between 13 to 20 years old in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou has touched 1.3 bln yuan. The industry also helps promote development and sales of related products.
