Industrial product prices up 5.3% in August

The National Bureau of Statistics announced the producer's price index for manufactured products for August which rose 5.3 percent over the same month of last year and the increase was 0.1 percentage point above that in July.

The NBS' data released on Sept. 9 also showed sharp rise of energy prices. The 36.2 percent upturn of crude oil PPI is thought to be attributable to 1.2 percentage points hike of the PPI.

In addition, gasoline price surged 32.8 percent, kerosene by 22.8 percent and diesel prices by 26.4 percent.
