Chinese Vice President Zeng Qinghong left Hong Kong Monday, concluding his three-day inspection tour.

Zeng was seen off by Donald Tsang Yam-kuen, chief executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (SAR), and Henry Ying Tung Fok and Tung Chee-hwa, both vice chairmen of the National Committee of the Chinese People' Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC).

While in Hong Kong, Zeng met on separate occasions with Donald Tsang Yam-kuen and Macao SAR Chief Executive Edmund Ho Hau Wah.

The vice president inspected Shatin Race Course, getting first-hand information about Hong Kong's preparation for hosting the equestrian events of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.

He toured the Cheerful Court, a venue covered by the government-run Senior Citizens Residence Scheme, and visited ordinary residents' families, calling for joint-efforts to cement a harmonious society.

Zeng also inspected the second phase of the Hong Kong International Financial Center, urging Hong Kong to consolidate and develop its status as an international financial center.

He delivered a speech at the welcome banquet, calling on Hong Kong's various sectors, strata and political organizations to make concerted efforts to build a prosperous and harmonious Hong Kong.

The vice president also met with principal Hong Kong officials and representatives of mainland offices and business units in Hong Kong.

He attended the opening of the Hong Kong Disneyland Monday morning.

Liao Hui, vice chairman of the National Committee of the CPPCC and director of the Hong Kong and Macao Affairs Office of the State Council, was among Zeng's entourage.
