China reports slight FDI decrease from January to August

According to statistics released by the Ministry of Commerce on Sept 13, from January to August, China reported 28, 393 newly approved foreign-invested enterprises, decreasing 1.03 percent against the same period of last year; the contractual foreign investment increased 20.69 percent to $112.706 bln; the paid-in foreign investment decreased 3.02 percent to $37.993 bln.

In August, China reported 3,741 newly approved foreign-invested enterprises, representing a year-on-year increase of 6.01 percent; the contractual foreign investment increased 32.05 percent to reach $14.066 bln; the paid-in foreign investment decreased 0.26 percent to $4.902 bln.
