Liu Chuanzhi cited for his contribution to US-China relations

According to The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the National Committee on United States - China Relations conferred the annual title of outstanding personnel on Liu Chuanzhi, chairman of Lenovo for his contribution in promoting US-China relations. This is the first time that the award is granted to a non-American citizen since its founding 40 years ago.

Stephen A. Orlins, President of the National Committee on United States - China Relations said in his letter to The Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries that the trade and economic ties has become more and more important in US-China relations. Lenovo's acquisition of IBM's PC business is a notable demonstration of close bilateral relations between the two countries. Liu Chuanzhi, the founder of Lenovo full of imaginations, is doubtless the first choice for the annual award, said the chairman.
