Industrial output up 16 percent in August

The National Bureau of Statistics announced that in August, all the state-owned enterprises, together with non-state enterprises with annual sales exceeding 5 million yuan, created added value of 596.8 billion yuan, reflecting a year-on-year increase of 16 percent.

However, the sales rate of products by these enterprises, standing at 98.28 percent, was down by 0.51 percentage points over the same month of last year.

Their delivery value of exports posted 397.2 billion yuan, rising 21.3 percent percent over the same month of 2004.
