Luo Haocai, vice-chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), met in Beijing Thursday with a delegation from the US association of Chinese-American elected officials, headed by Matthew Y.C. Lin, vice mayor of San Marino.

Luo expressed appreciation for the association's active role in promoting Sino-US ties and enhancing exchanges across the Taiwan Straits. He hopes it will make even greater contribution to the friendly exchanges between the Chinese and American peoples.

The delegation is visiting China at the invitation of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese.
