China puts imported octanol under dumping probe

The Ministry of Commerce of China announced it launched an anti-dumping investigation into imported octanol originated from the Republic of Korea, Saudi Arabia, Japan, European Union and Indonesia from Sept.15.

The investigation will find whether there is dumping, how serious it is, what injuries has been made on China's octanol industry and to what extent the injuries are.

The octanol involved in this case is classified under Code 29051600 in Import and Export Tariffs of General Administration of Customs. Normally the one-year investigation ends by Sept.15, 2006. Extension till March 15, 2007 is possible in special circumstances.
