Finnish PM concludes China visit
font size

Prime Minister of Finland Matti Vanhanen concluded a six-day unofficial visit to China and left Guangzhou on Saturday morning.

During his three-day stay in south China's Guangdong Province, Vanhanen visited a sci-tech development zone in the provincial capital Guangzhou and the prestigious Sun Yat-sen University, and watched Guangdong Opera, martial art and other folk art performance.

When meeting with provincial governor Huang Huahua on Thursday, Vanhanen said Finland would step up cooperation with Guangdong in such fields as electronics, paper-making, mechanics, bio-pharmacy, environmental protection and tourism.

Vanhanen arrived here on Wednesday from Shanghai, China's economic hub. It is Vanhanen's first China tour as Finnish prime minister, which is also intended to pave the way for an official visit scheduled for next year.
