HK delegation to attend UN hearing

A seven-member team of the Hong Kong government will attend a United Nations hearing under the Convention on the Rights of the Child in Geneva on Sept. 19, a government press release said Friday.

Deputy Secretary for Home Affairs Stephen Fisher will lead the team - part of the Chinese delegation - to explain the content of Hong Kong's report under the convention, one of the six major human rights treaties that apply to Hong Kong.

Hong Kong's government invited the committee to inspect how the convention was implemented in Hong Kong earlier this year.
