Death toll in Baghdad car bombing rises to 30: source

The death toll in the car bombing in southeastern Baghdad on Saturday has risen to 30, said the police.

"The death toll is now 30 and another 38 were injured," a source from the Interior Ministry told Xinhua on condition of anonymity.

The source told Xinhua earlier that at least 14 were killed and 10 injured in the explosion.

A powerful car bomb detonated inside a market in Nahrawan district of southeastern Baghdad at around 7:30 p.m. (GMT 1530), according to the source.

Over 200 were killed in recent days as Abu Musad al-Zarqawi, the leader of al-Qaida in Iraq, declared a "all-out" war on Iraq's Shiite Muslims and government.
