Famous Taiwan writer and cultural figure Li Ao arrived at the Beijing Capital Airport around 5:10 p.m. Monday, starting his 10-day "Chinese culture trip."

This is his first trip back to the Chinese mainland in 56 years.

He is scheduled to make speeches in three prestigious Chinese universities, namely Beijing University, Qinghua University and Fudan University.

He will also make some sightseeing trips and meet with his primary school friends.

Li was born in Harbin, northeast China's Heilongjiang Province, in 1935.
