75,000 relocated farmers in Gansu get rid of poverty
font size

Through more than four years of efforts, 75,000 farmers in Gansu Province have bid farewell to their past extremely bad living conditions, settled down in areas with better environmental circumstances and are gradually getting rid of poverty. The great achievements are attributed to a poverty alleviation and relocation project.

Starting from 2001, the National Development and Reform Commission carried out a pilot project of poverty alleviation and relocation. By the end of last year, Gansu got 310 million yuan of special funds for the relocation project in the areas that lack of basic survival conditions.
