Chinese Vice Premier Huang Ju met in Beijing Tuesday with Bechir Tekkari, minister of justice and human rights and presidential envoy of Tunisia.

Huang mentioned the steady growth of bilateral relations and fruitful bilateral cooperation in various fields since China and Tunisia forged diplomatic ties 41 years ago.

He said the Chinese government supports the Tunisian government in hosting the second-phase world summit on the information society scheduled for November this year.

The Chinese side will work with the Tunisian side to strengthen bilateral exchanges, enhance political trust and deepen reciprocal cooperation so as to promote bilateral relations to higher levels, said Huang.

Tekkari said the Tunisian government attaches great importance to bilateral friendly ties, and expressed thanks for China's support for Tunisia as the host of the summit, welcoming China to the summit.
