42 million jobs created in past five years

The employment situation in China's urban areas has been improved in the past several years with continually increasing number of the newly-employed annually.

Authoritative statistics show from 2001 to August this year, more than 42 million jobs have been created. In the meantime, registered unemployment rate in urban areas has been kept under five percent.
