Airbus Wednesday announced that it will deliver 65 aircraft to China this year, accounting for over one sixth of the expected delivery in the world.
In recent years, Airbus' delivery to China kept a steady growth, from 12 planes in 2000 to 42 last year. According to Airbus' prediction of China, the number of new delivery will be 1,800 in next 20 years, nearly 90 aircraft every year on average, said Laurence Barron, Airbus China president.
This year marked the 20th anniversary of Airbus entry into China's market. Since Airbus delivered the first aircraft to China Eastern Airlines, the manufacturer has delivered more than 300 aircraft to 10 Chinese airlines.
Airbus received 69 orders from five Chinese airlines, including five A380 aircraft, the world's biggest carrier with 555 seats.
