font size

Kuwaiti Energy Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Fahad Al-Sabah on Wednesday decided to form a team as part of the Kuwait-Iraq team to be tasked with specifying rights of border oil fields, the official KUNA news agency reported.

The minister said in a statement, quoted by KUNA, that the joint team will work out mechanisms for safeguarding rights of border oil fields.

According to the statement, Kuwaiti members of the joint team held a meeting on Sept. 14 to review draft plans for the mission and examine other states' experience in this field.

The statement reaffirmed Kuwait's keenness on safeguarding rights of the two countries in border oil fields.

The team consists of officials from the Energy Ministry and Kuwait Oil Company.
