GSL Holdings Inc. of the United States is sponsoring construction of an international logistics center in Heihe, a town on Sino-Russian border in northeast China's Heilongjiang Province.
The 200-hectare center, whose construction began recently, is planned to take five years to complete with a budget of approximately 700,000 yuan (about 86,300 US dollars), an official in charge of the projected center said.
Upon completion, the center will operate businesses in credit and guarantee, international trade and logistics, and offer other supportive services such as customs clearance, commodity inspection, storage and processing.
Commodities to be collected or distributed at the center, will range from garments, furniture, electronics and electrical appliances, automobiles, toys, presents, jewellery, leatherware, construction materials, to foodstuffs.
Heihe port faces Blagoveshchensk of Russia across Heilongjiang River, also known as Amur.
