Lenovo to spend more than 2.5 billion yuan on R&D this year

"Lenovo will spend more than 2.5 billion yuan on R&D activities this year," said He Zhiqiang, vice senior executive president of Lenovo, by Xinhua.

Lenovo has forged an alliance with IT giants IBM, Intel, LANDesk Software, Microsoft, and Symantec and jointly announced with its partners the inauguration of its Beijing innovation center on Sept. 21.

The new center will act as a "solution incubator" in its global innovation system to offer various supports and services either for hardware or software.
