Cheng Siwei, vice-chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, hoped the Hong Kong youth in industrial and business circles to make more contributions to China's development.
Cheng made the remarks in Beijing Thursday when meeting with a Hong Kong industrial and business youth delegation led by Huang Yinghao, vice chairman of the All-China Youth Federation.
Compared with the elder generation of Hong Kong industrial and business people, this generation has more advantages in terms of background, education, marketing sense and understanding of both the mainland and Hong Kong, Cheng said.
He encouraged young Hong Kong business people to explore their potential and preserve their forefathers' hardworking and thrifty traditions to help maintain Hong Kong's prosperity and stability, and the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
