China suffered 163 bln yuan losses from disasters this year

Jia Zhibang, Vice Chairman and Secretary-General of the National Disaster Reduction Committee, Vice Minister of Civil Affairs, said at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that by September 20 various kinds of natural disasters have caused 1,630 deaths, 1.45 million ruined houses and emergency relocation of 13,35 million people.

Direct losses from natural disasters have reached 163 billion yuan.
