The Eighth Route Army was an armed force led by the Communist Party of China in the Chinese people's Anti-Japanese War (1937-1945), an important part of the world anti-Fascist war. Luo Gan led the central delegation to Urumqi on Sept. 23 for a series of celebrations to mark the 50th anniversary of the founding of the autonomous region, which falls on Oct. 1.
