Revenue of top 500 manufacturers grows 36.24% averagely

The revenue of China's top 500 manufacturers in 2005 grew 36.24 percent on average, the Chinese Federation of Enterprises (CFE) announced recently.

The list of Top 500 Manufacturing Enterprises in China was promulgated by the CFE.

The revenue of elevators, transport, storage equipment manufacturers grew 40.2 percent on average, the highest of all industries on the list, which was followed by manufacturers of telecommunication equipment and accessories, non-ferrous metallurgy, ferrous metallurgy as well as construction materials and glass, according to CFE figures.

The average asset profit rate of the top 500 manufacturers was 4.2 percent, with that in telecommunication equipment and accessory manufacture hitting the highest, 11.14 percent.

Manufacturers of electronic office equipment and video equipment, tobacco, elevators, transport, storage equipment and fur and leather products ranked second to fifth in terms of average asset profit rate on the list, according to CFE.

CFE figures show 274 manufacturing enterprises on the list are state-owned and state share-holding companies, and 113 are privatecompanies. Only 39 are collectively-owned and 74 are overseas-funded.

CFE investigation shows that overseas-funded manufacturers on the list are most efficient, while state-owned enterprises lag behind in terms of profit and efficiency.
