Three Chinese descendants on US richest list

The Forbes magazine has published its list of the 400 richest Americans for 2005. Three tycoons of Chinese descent are on the list, according to the overseas edition of the People's Daily today.

They are Jerry Yang, founder of Yahoo!, Ming Hseih, CEO of Cogent System which is the leading provider of Automated Fingerprint Identification Systems (AFIS), and Victor Fung, Group Chairman of Hong kong based and listed global consumer products export trade company Li & Fung (Trading) Limited.

Their places on the list are the 93rd, the 198th and the 235th respectively.

According to the Forbes website, Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft crowns the list with 51 billion USD. Warren E. Buffett, the investor, is the second (40 billion USD) and Microsoft co-founder Paul G. Allen is the third (22.5 billion USD). The collective wealth of the 400 richest reached 1.3 trillion USD.
