380,000 people changed jobs in HK last year, causing 10 bln HK$ lossesMore than 380,000 employees in Hong Kong changed jobs last year, resulting in an economic loss as high as 10 billion HK dollars, a survey by CPA Australia showed. According to Hong Kong Commercial Daily, CPA Australia interviewed 109 managers in state-run and private organizations and found out that about 383,500 people chose to change jobs last year. More than 40 percent of them said they leave because they see no future. The job changing caused a total loss of nearly 10 billion HK dollars to both employees and their organizations, including recruitment cost and lost salary during unemployment. The survey indicated that 16 percent quitted because they were "disgusted" with their organizations, 44 percent said "no opportunity for further development" and only 9 percent mentioned "unsatisfactory salary". Besides, among those who were forced to quit, 49 percent said their companies "went bankrupt", 34 percent were fired and 16 percent lost job because their posts were cut. By People's Daily Online |
