Wu Bangguo met with President of the Republic of the
Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso in
Beijing Tuesday.
Wu, chairman of the Standing committee of the Chinese National People's Congress (NPC), said China and the Republic of the Congo enjoy a 41-year-long stable friendly ties and are trustworthy friends.
He said China hopes to further exchanges with the Republic of the Congo to further boost the development of bilateral ties.
Wu expressed China's appreciates for Congo's firm support on the issues including Taiwan and human rights.
He also urged the legislatures of both countries to improve cooperation to improve mutual understanding and friendship.
Sassou said the cooperation between the Republic of the Congo and China in politics, economy, culture and social affairs has produced fruitful outcome.
Congo highly values its ties with China and will continue to take efforts to expand mutual cooperation to achieve common development, Sassou said.
