Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen on Tuesday in Phnom Penh met with visiting Chinese Land and Natural Resources Minister Sun Wensheng, seeking to strength cooperation on exploration of mineral resources.
Hun Sen expressed warm welcome to the delegation headed by Sun Wensheng. Sun Wensheng thanked Cambodia for its firm stand on "one China" policy and support China's cause of reunification.
Hun Sen said that Cambodia is rich in mineral resources and has rich mineral reserves under its ground but it needs exploration.
He expressed hope that China's Land and Natural Resources Ministry will offer such help as exploration, setting up the laboratory and training technicians.
Sun Wensheng said that his visit aimed to strengthen the cooperation between his ministry and Cambodia's two ministries of Mines and Energy, and Urbanization and Construction.
Sun also briefed the prime minister on China's Land and Natural Resources Ministry which was set up on 1998.
During the meeting, Hun Sen also welcome Chinese businessmen to invest in Cambodia, especially on mineral exploration, which the premier said will promote the development of Cambodia's economy and the poverty reduction.
Sun and his delegation arrived here on Sunday evening on a three-day visit. During his stay, Sun also met with Cambodia's Minister of Urbanization and Construction Im Chhun Lim and Minister of Mines and Energy Suy Sem.
