The official result of Poland's parliamentary election released late Tuesday showed the rightist Law and Justice Party (PiS) and its ally the Civic Platform (PO) won the election.
With all the ballots from Sunday's election counted, the PiS and PO won 26.66 percent and 24.14 percent of the votes respectively, while the center-left Union Self-Defense got 11.41 percent and the ruling Democratic Left Alliance (SLD) got 11.31 percent, the State Electoral Commission declared on Tuesday evening.
According to the result, the PiS and the PO would separately take 155 and 133 seats in the 460-member House of Representatives, Poland's lower house, while the Union Self-Defense would have 56 seats and the SLD only keeps 55 seats.
Reports said the PiS and the PO are planning to form a coalition government, while Jaroslaw Kaczynski, leader of the PiS, said he was well-prepared to deal with economic issues if he takes the premiership.
The one-day parliamentary election was held on Sunday. The State Electoral Commission said only 12 million, or 40.57 percent of the total 30 million eligible voters cast their ballots, setting the lowest voter turnout record in a decade.
