Israeli army Apache helicopters and F16 warplanes carried out early Wednesday a series of real and illusory airstrikes on different targets in the Gaza Strip, causing horror and destruction but no injuries, witnesses and security sources reported.
Witnesses said that the helicopters fired two missiles after midnight at a cultural center in Gaza city that belongs to Fatah ruling movement, severe destruction was caused to the building, but no injuries were reported.
They said that two huge explosions were heard in Tufah neighborhood in Gaza City, where ambulances and firefighters arrived at the targeted building. Severe damages were caused to the building.
Some of them said they saw one of the helicopters hovering over the southern Gaza neighborhood had suddenly fired two rockets falling on a building and then electricity went off after two huge explosions were heard one after the other.
Witnesses in the neighborhood said that the two rockets were fired at a building that has an office for Sami Abu Samhadana, a senior Fatah leader in Gaza City, adding that the office was empty and no injuries were reported.
Security sources confirmed that an Israeli Apache helicopter fired one rocket at a building, that contains an office belongs to the Popular Front for the liberation of Palestine. Damages were caused to the office, no injuries reported.
Meanwhile, Israeli F16 warplanes carried out more than 10 illusory airstrikes, or sonic bombs over different areas in the Gaza Strip over night and Wednesday morning.
Israeli intensified its airstrikes on the Gaza Strip after radical Palestinian militants had launched homemade rockets attacks on Israel from the Gaza Strip.
