Chinese top adviser calls for promotion of Chinese national culture

Chinese top political adviser Jia Qinglin said in Beijing Tuesday that China should explore more ways and means to further promote and carry forward its national culture so as to reach the final goal of rejuvenating the Chinese nation.

Jia made the remarks during a meeting with representatives of an ongoing symposium held here to explore the Chinese culture and the cohesiveness of the Chinese nation.

"To achieve that end, we should spare no effort," said Jia, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

According to him, the ongoing national endeavor of building an all-round, well-off society has brought about fresh opportunities for the promotion.

Jia called for all the Chinese offspring to shoulder up the great task of promoting the Chinese culture and increasing its influence and attractiveness in the world.

Excellent Chinese traditions should be actively inherited so as to yield more advanced elements that could reflect the spirit of the times and help the Chinese national culture to keep permanent vigor and vitality, Jia said.
