State Councilor urges further Heilongjiang-Russia cooperation

Chinese State Councilor Tang Jiaxuan on Tuesday called for northeastern China's Heilongjiang Province to increase its exchanges and cooperation with Russia so as to promote its sustained development of economy.

It is imperative to give full play to the advantages of its cooperation with Russia and rejuvenate the old industrial base in northeast China, said Tang during his inspection tour of Heilongjiang recently.

Over the past decade, Heilongjiang has played an important role in boosting the two country's border economy and made positive contribution to the development of their strategic partnership of cooperation, said Tang.

He said such partnership between the two countries is developing in a depth way with their mutual trust enhanced and their cooperation in various fields showing a positive momentum.

The province should strengthen its border management, deepen mutual trust and turn the China-Russia border into a bridge of friendship and cooperation between the two peoples, Tang said.
