    Suicide attack kills nine in Kabul

A suicide attacker detonated a bomb here on Wednesday, killing at least 9 and injuring 28 others, a spokesperson of the Afghan Defense Ministry said. Taliban claimed to be responsible for the suicide attack at the same time.

    Chinese hold commemoration of anti-Japanese war in Malaysia

Some 13 Chinese Malaysian communities and organizations held the conference to mark the 60th anniversary of victory of the Malayan people's resistance to Japanese invasion in defense of Malaya. Resolutions adopted at the conference condemned the repeated visits by Japanese leaders to the Yasakuni Shrine. Some 100 representatives of Chinese Malaysian communities and groups participated in the conference.

    Fifth round of Sino-US talks in the pipeline

    Temples of Confucius hold grand commemorative ceremonies

    Performance in the ancient style is staged during a grand ceremony held in the Temple of Confucius in Qufu, east China's Shandong Province Sept. 28, 2005. A grand ceremony commemorating the 2556th birth anniversary of Confucius was held in Qufu, hometown of Confucius, on Wednesday. Similar ceremonies were also held at about 30 temples of Confucius and commemorative venues in the Republic of Korea, Japan, Germany and the United States at the same time with Qufu as the main venue.
