China's CPPCC Chairman watches opera show
font size

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, watched an opera show in Beijing Wednesday.

Hebei bangzi opera, one opera that former Chinese Premier Zhou Enlai calls for protection, is on show during Sept. 24 to 30, as a part to celebrate the 56th anniversary of founding of China on Oct. 1.

Twelve CPPCC members put forward a motion early this year, calling for protecting local operas, which received attention from senior CPPCC leaders.
