Senior Chinese official Wang Zhaoguo said in Beijing Wednesday that workers in private businesses are an importance force to build up a well-off society, when attending an awarding ceremony.

Wang, vice chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress and president of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, said employees in private businesses constitute an important part of the working class, who need to be cherished and cared.

At the ceremony to reward private businesses for caring about their staff, Wang, member of the Political Bureau of the Chinese Communist Party Central Committee, stressed that renowned personages of private businesses should protect their staff's rights and interests, promote social productivity and expand employment channels.

Eighty-seven entrepreneurs were awarded the title of excellent private businessmen cherishing their staffs, 87 employees were named excellent workers and 86 corporations as advanced enterprises.
