Congolese president visits China's largest damPresident of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso on Wednesday visited China's largest dam in the central province of Hubei. Sassou visited the Three Gorges dam on the Yangtze River, and a related exhibition center and hydro-power generation station. Governor of Hubei Province Luo Qingquan told Sassou that Hubei has witnessed fast growing economy in recent years and hopes to enhance cooperation with the Republic of the Congo. Sassou kicked off his five-day state visit to China on Sept. 26. Chinese President Hu Jintao, Premier Wen Jiabao and top legislator Wu Bangguo had met or held talks with Sassou during his stay in Beijing.
