CPPCC Chairman meets councilors of Soong Ching-ling Foundation

Jia Qinglin, chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, met with members of the Soong Ching-ling Foundation in Beijing Wednesday.

In meeting with the members of the first session of the fifth council of the foundation, Jia praised the foundation, set up in 1982, for its contribution to facilitate the development of non-governmental diplomacy, cross-Straits exchange, development of the youth and teenagers with the support of domestic and overseas organizations and personages.

He urged the members to carry on the spirit of Soong Ching-ling to promote public welfare undertakings and contacts with Taiwan parties, societies and the young people to work for reunification and to further friendship between China and other countries or regions.
