Congo President visits port cities in East China

President of the Republic of the Congo Denis Sassou-Nguesso on Thursday visited Shanghai and China's southern port city Shenzhen respectively.

He said he was amazed by the economic prosperity in Shanghai and Shenzhen and hoped to strengthen economic and trade cooperation with them, in particular in the area of telecommunications industry which is a key area of cooperation between Congo and China.

Sassou was warmly received in Shanghai and Shenzhen. He met with Tang Dengjie, Vice Mayor of Shanghai and Xu Zhongheng, Mayor of Shenzhen.

Sassou, President of the Republic of the Congo, kicked off his five-day state visit to China on Sept. 26.
