Beijing registered 60.96 billion yuan (7.52 billion US dollars) of fiscal revenue in the first eight months of this year, up 21.7 percent year-on-year, according to the municipal statistics bureau.
Of the total, 5.72 billion yuan came from personal income tax, 4.42 billion yuan from value-added tax, and 25.56 billion yuan from business tax.
Some 13 billion yuan of corporate income tax was collected, up 37 percent year-on-year, which contributed 32.4 percent to the total local fiscal revenue, up 10.3 percentage points.
Total fiscal expenditure in the eight-month period stood at 50.24 billion yuan, up 14.9 percent on a yearly basis, with 3.45 billion yuan used for infrastructure construction, up 8.9 percent year-on-year.
The Beijing municipal finance department also allocated 1.82 billion yuan on strengthening ecological and environmental protection and promoting the development of educational, cultural and health undertakings in the rural areas.
