Israeli troops wound Palestinian teen near Nablus
font size

Israeli troops stationed at an army checkpoint outside the West Bank city of Nablus shot and seriously wounded a Palestinian teen on Sunday, Palestinian witnesses and security sources said.

Witnesses said that they saw a Palestinian young man walking toward Beit Foreek checkpoint outside Nablus, and one Israeli soldier opened fire at him and wounded him in the leg.

They said the checkpoint is considered the toughest one in the West Bank.

However, an Israeli army spokesman said Israeli soldiers suddenly saw a Palestinian young man running in the direction of the checkpoint, holding a knife.

The spokesman said that one soldier opened fire at the young man and seriously wounded him. The teen was shot with four gunshots in the leg and then taken to an Israeli hospital.
